who is the man behind the mission?
AE Reed is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in High Point, North Carolina. Working across painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, and digital processes, Reed explores the space between what is seen, what is remembered, and what exists somewhere in between.
His work often begins with an image, mark, fragment, or visual idea that captures his attention. From there, he builds through layering, subtraction, repetition, gesture, and experimentation. Printed ephemera and digital imagery frequently become source material, allowing familiar visuals to be transformed into something more personal and abstract.
Reed’s practice is intuitive and process-driven. Rather than beginning with a fixed answer, he allows the work to develop through discovery—following unexpected connections between color, line, texture, light, and shadow. The resulting pieces move between recognizable imagery and abstraction, inviting the viewer to find their own associations within the work.
With a background that spans visual design, art direction, and creative leadership, Reed brings both a designer’s eye and an artist’s instinct to his practice. His work reflects a lifelong fascination with visual storytelling and a desire to continually explore new ways of seeing and making.
