i am really not good at this!
I had told myself that I was going to do better with this and really make it something that would give insight to me as a person and creative…..but here we are again. I am writing something here almost 6 months after the previous entry. I get caught up in the daily life and social media entries which seem to be a more “up to date” story for people who are curious. So, with that being said I guess it is time for a bit of an update.
I presented a show last year in September titled “Life in the Key of A” and with that it was truly my entry back into the art world I guess. I had tasked myself with the idea of having more art shows and getting my name and face out there as an artist. I had the “Highlands Show” back in 2022 and that stirred something but it took me until 2025 to actually get. my ass in gear to do something. The “Key of E” show was a great success or at least I think it was! I sold three pieces from that show and have now secured a yearly show at Nomad Wineworks in September. I also began submitting works to galleries primarily in Winston Salem. The main one, Red Dog Gallery, has been my most successful venture at this point. I have shown there 2 times in 2025 and now have work there now for 2026. They do quarterly shows so the amount of shows there is limited. I also have been submitting works to a local brewery in town which has monthly shows with various themes etc. I have tried to submit as much as possible there but often times, I dont have a piece that works for the show OR I dont have time to create something site specific as the topic is a bit of a stretch for me.
With ALL of that being said, I have three shows planned for this year. I will have the shows at Brewers and at Red Dog which will be ongoing, but in May, I will have the “1008” show which will take place at the home of Tu and Todd Sen here in the historic district of High Point. I will also have the next Nomad show, “of the night” which will be showing in September and lastly in the months of November and December, I will have the “Life in the Key of A” show which will be taking place back home in Virginia at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library.
I am forcing myself to “get out there and do the damn thing”……so if you dont hear from me here, head to my socials and you will see where in the world I am!
